NON-FINANCIAL AND SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING PRACTICES
The CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) will concern around 49,000 European companies starting from 2025 - or from the 2024 financial year for those already subject to the NFRD (Non-Financial Reporting Directive). Much more than an extra-financial reporting obligation, the CSRD is one of the regulations that should allow Europe to "Green" its economy by 2050 and allow companies to inform their stakeholders in a relevant way on the integration of sustainability issues into their strategy.
So, how are companies approaching this new regulation? What are the differences between those who are used to a reporting exercise and those who are new to the subject?
For the 11th year, Tennaxia and Euronext Corporate Services analyse extra-financial reporting practices of European companies on existing and planned developments in that area through interviews with the people at the heart of these topics.
Benefits of Comprehensive Sustainability Reporting
-
Attract new investors
Investors expect companies to recognise and address potential risks and opportunities in relation to sustainability reporting - this can impact long-term value creation.
-
Improve market perception
A well-defined sustainability approach leverages the right narrative and promotes a positive brand image. This enables the business to further grow and outperform its targets.
-
Reduce risks
Building on solid sustainability reporting allows companies to become future-proof by mitigating reputational risks and align with international regulation.
