Frequently Asked Questions
What is IAS 24?
IAS 24 (Related Party Disclosures) is an International Accounting Standard under IFRS. It requires companies to disclose their related party relationships, transactions and outstanding balances in their financial statements, including key management personnel compensation so readers can see how those relationships may affect the company’s financial position.
Who has to comply with IAS 24?
In practice, IAS 24 applies to virtually every European listed issuer. Companies admitted to trading on an EU regulated market must prepare their consolidated financial statements under IFRS and IAS 24 is part of IFRS. That is essentially the same population of companies already caught by the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), which is exactly why it makes sense to manage related parties and insider lists in one system rather than two.
What are the main IAS 24 pain points?
The hardest part is rarely the accounting. It’s the data. Teams struggle to identify every related party (key management personnel, their close family members and the entities they control), to keep that information current and to collect accurate disclosures from each individual. Most do this in spreadsheets and email, which is slow, error-prone and hard to evidence at audit.
I already use InsiderLog for MAR. Is IAS 24 a separate product?
No. It’s a module within your existing InsiderLog environment, using the same data model, audit trail and security. Your team works in one platform.
Does the module produce my IAS 24 disclosure note or handle the transactions?
No. InsiderLog owns the related party register: a structured, audit-ready source of who your related parties are and how they are classified. Transaction capture and note generation stay in your existing finance or consolidation tools.
How quickly can we go live?
Because the configuration is predefined, most teams operationalise the register in under an hour.
